Settings (Windows/Mac)



Settings

The Settings panel provides many options for customizing your MusicReader installation. Here you can change almost every setting you would want. Below is a overview of the options per tab:

Library
- Library Folder - Here you can specify what will be used as the default directory in the Library, press browse to open a window to specify a directly
- Library Colums - You can define what colums you want to show in the library. Default the settings of Title, Composer and Instrument are selected. You can add the options Arranger, Lyricist, Performer, Genre, Instrumentation, Copyright, Publisher, Keys, Difficulty, Custom1(selfdefined) and Custom2(selfdefined).

Note: it is advisable to select no more than 4 options, because otherwise the Library could easily get cluttered.
Note2: Custom1 and Custom2 can be used to add information that wouldn't fit in other categories.



Interface & Controls
Here you can edit how you would like the interface to work. You can select the default settings for the interface.

You have the following options:
- Half Page Automatic Turn - Here you can determine the default time for turning a half page. This can be changed between Off and 20 seconds.
- Keep Cursor from sheet music - Disabling this options always keeps the cursor on screen, Enabling this automatically hides the cursor after several seconds
- Sensitive Pen Pressure - This enables pressure sensitive drawing when available. Disabling this feature makes the drawing of a constant (maximum) pressure.
- Page Turn Block - This feature defines how long a footpedal will be blocked to prevent accidentally pressing it twice.



Audio

The Audio-tab show all the options related to playing and recording music & sound. Here you can specify which speakers or microphones MusicReader should use. Each button features a dropdown menu with all the options.
Please note that is not recommended changing this when there is no reason to, because normally MusicReader automatically detects the best settings.

- Midi Output - This defines which device will be used for playing MIDI files.
- Midi Input - This defines which device will be used for recording MIDI(normally only Real Time Sequencer is available)
- Sound Output - This defines which device will be used for playing all the sounds/music. Normally it defaults to Primary Sound Driver, which equals your default audio device.
- Sound Input - This defines which device will be used for recording sound (Microphones, Line-In, etc).  Normally it defaults to Primary Sound Capture Driver, which equals your default audio device.
- Midi Next Page - Select a MIDI command to turn to the next page. Send the MIDI commands to the MIDI Input to get them in the selection list. This list refreshes automatically.
- Midi Previous Page - Select a MIDI command to turn to the next page. Send the MIDI commands to the MIDI Input to get them in the selection list. This list refreshes automatically.





License

This shows the currently installed license. It shows the type of license, the version and expiration date. It also shows the maximum uses if an license EVALUATOR-license is installed.

To install a new license, press the Install License Button. Here you can direct MusicReader to the .lic-file supplied when ordering MusicReader. Using a paid license gives you unlimited uses and better support.
